Today the Working Families Party, a national political party that focuses on advancing the rights of working class Americans and Black and brown people, endorsed Ramin Fatehi for Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney.
In 2019, the Working Families Party launched a national criminal justice initiative to elect more progressive prosecutors nationwide. During the 2020 election cycle, the WFP helped elect José Garza (Travis County, Texas), Eli Savit (Washtenaw County, Michigan), and Monique Worrell (Orange-Osceola Counties, Florida), and supported the reelection campaigns of Kim Foxx (Cook County, Illinois) and Kim Gardner (St. Louis, Missouri).
“I am proud to stand with the Working Families Party to advance the cause of equity and justice in Norfolk and Virginia,” said Fatehi, “We have two systems of justice in America: One for the wealthy and connected and another for everyone else. The Working Families Party has worked nationwide to create one system of justice, and I will work with them toward that goal.”
Ramin Fatehi is a progressive prosecutor and a Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney in Norfolk. He is seeking the Democratic nomination for Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney. Primary day is June 8 with early voting beginning April 23.
