Today the Working Families Party, a national political party that focuses on advancing the rights of working class Americans and Black and Brown people, endorsed Ramin Fatehi for re-election as Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney. In the endorsement, WFP said:
In 2019, the Working Families Party launched a national criminal justice initiative to elect more progressive prosecutors nationwide. During the 2021 election cycle, the WFP supported numerous successful candidates, including Fatehi.
“I am proud to stand with the Working Families Party to advance the cause of equity and justice in Norfolk and Virginia,” says Fatehi. “We have two systems of justice in America: One for the wealthy and connected and another for everyone else. The Working Families Party has worked nationwide to create one system of justice, and I will continue to work with them toward that goal.”
Ramin Fatehi is a progressive prosecutor and the Commonwealth’s Attorney in Norfolk. He is seeking the Democratic nomination for another term. Primary day is June 17, with early voting beginning May 2.
